Bonjour!

I spent most of the day in London yesterday.  I went to the Tate Modern and saw an awesome new collection of art.  Found a few new artists that I'm in love with.  I don't have the paper I wrote all their names on with me right now, but I'll be sure to share them later on.  Other than the Tate, London was mainly just looking at the sites all along my 2 mile hike (i think it was more like 5 because I took a bunch of little detours...and by "took detours" I mean "got lost") from the hostel to the train station.  Everything  is closed on Sunday which wasn't fun, but I did get to see a bunch of old cathedrals which was neat.  I went to purchase a 3 day pass to ride the Brit Rail, but the office was closed, so instead of spending about 80 Pounds for three days worth of travel i had to spend 142 POUNDS(!!!) so I could make it to Paris.  I wanted to cry when I saw the ticket price!  I didn't have much of a choice though.  I did get to ride first class :) , but only because the ticket was cheaper, which didn't really make sense to me, but I wasn't going to argue.  The train ride was pleasant and they gave us a full meal which was pretty good.  I chatted with a guy named Ben Oit on the way there.  He seemed to know a LOT about Paris and didn't mind sharing info with me.  He taught me a few little phrases too, which come in handy.  I panicked a little when I got off the train in Paris because now, not only do I have no clue where I am, everything is in French.  It was a lot more intimidating than it ended up being.  I just wrote down the address and handed it to the cab driver.  It wasn't that far away, but I walked a lot already that day.  This hostel was a pleasant surprise!  For once there isn't a surprise bar/pub/nightclub directly underneath and, even better, there's an actual bathroom IN the room.  You don't realize how much you enjoy everyday things until you don't get to have them.  It was awesome to be in a shower that A. doesn't require you to push a button every 15 seconds in order to get water B.  has hot water AND water pressure at the SAME time and C. isn't down the hall.  So I finally had a quiet night in a cute little hostel in the 18e area of Paris.  One of my roommates is actually from TX too, so we buddied up and went out with a few other people who knew the subways really well and hung out in Paris for the night.  I was still in bed fairly early, but it was nice to come home and not have to listen other people partying while you're trying to sleep.  I hope I'm fortunate enough to find a few more hostels like this one, because the other 2 didn't sit so well for me.  All in all it was a great night!  Well I'm off to visit a few museums!  I'll try to write tonight or tomorrow morning.  Love you all!
